Job Description

Back of House Receiver

Responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to the receiving of products including daily food, beverage and equipment orders.  The Receiver will check in all incoming deliveries, notify management of count variances and properly store and rotate all food orders.  The Receiver will also be responsible for working with the Back of House team to restock wares, pull wares as outlined for event needs and assist with the loading and unloading of trucks, as well as other BOH job functions as needed.  Basic job duties include:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, well-stocked, organized work environment
  • Manage incoming shipments and materials in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner
    • Accurately count and verify received goods
    • Inspect and verify condition of the items received
    • Reconcile items received against invoice quantities
    • Communicate any invoice discrepancies to the Operations Manager and Chef as needed
    • Organize and control items through proper rotation standards
  • Manage the packing and unpacking of all party equipment, beverage, rentals and linen
  • Ensure that proper paperwork is filled out and/or obtained for any and all movement of product and equipment from receiving shipments
  • Accurately check-in and check-out all rentals
  • Communicate any equipment or supply issues to the Operations Manager and Chef as needed
  • Use proper procedures to ensure the safe handling of all equipment
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries and events
  • Organize items received for quality inspections and inventory counts

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • 2 years of high volume stock/receiving experience preferred but not required
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles (16 ft. box truck) preferred
  • Catering experience is a plus
  • Food service management desirable
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy
  • Prioritize, manage and follow through on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and under deadline pressure
  • Able to perform the physical demands of the job which include: continuous walking, bending, lifting, push/pulling (50 lbs. +)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends
